How to report cyber crime
- Screenshot every message the person has sent or posted as evidence.
- Call the non-emergency police line, 101, and explain everything.
- Talk to them about how this has made you feel and what the person has been doing/saying.
- Your local police will book an appointment with you, and so you go to the station and tell them everything.
- If the person has been threatening you, this is filed under 'harassment', and the police take this behavior very seriously.
- They will take details of the online bully and track them down.
- At first, not much is done. They'll find the person behind the message, and give them a warning.
- If the bully comes back however, continue saving evidence and sharing it with the police.
- Eventually they will take drastic measures.
